This building was erected in 1873 when seedsmen and florists George Phippen & Edward Robinson, who had just taken possession of Nos. 105-106, directed correspondence to their nursery in Oxford Road for the duration of the works.

Clarks (shoe shop)

C&J Clark, trading as Clarks, is a shoe brand founded in Street in 1825 by Cyrus Clark, who took his brother James as an apprentice. It enjoyed rapid expansion after WW2, buying several rivals in the 1970s. It was itself acquired by private equity firm LionRock Capital in 2020, ending Clark family control.

Ravel (shoe shop)

Ravel is a ladies' shoe brand established in London in 1934 by Erwin Wise. Originally called the Tower Boot Company, it was rebranded to Chaussures Ravel in 1965. The brand was acquired by Clarks in 1974, who maintained it as a separate chain until 2007.
