Building:
Nos. 38-39, Broad Street

Nos. 38-39
TG Jones (newsagent, bookseller & stationer)

A newsagent, bookseller and stationer, TG Jones comprises the former high street division of WH Smith (est. 1792), which was bought in 2025 by equity firm Modella Capital (est. 2022). Its name is intended to sound similar to 'WH Smith' and so evoke trust but is pure invention; there is no such person as TG Jones.

2025 - WH Smith sold off its entire portfolio of high street stores to equity firm Modella Capital in order to concentrate on railway station and airport concessions. As the WH Smith name was not part of the sale, Modella renamed them to TG Jones, a name chosen to sound similar and therefore reassuring to customers.
