Building:
Queen Victoria St development (west side)

Built in 1903 as part of the creation of Queen Victoria Street (which directly linked Broad Street to Station Road), this building was possibly designed by Joseph Morris. It was Grade II listed in 1978 along with the rest of the Queen Victoria Street development.

Blott was a stationer founded in 2011. It had opened 15 shops by 2015, when it went into administration.

Thorntons (chocolatier or confectioner)

Thorntons Limited is a chocolatier founded in 1911 by Joseph Thornton. It was purchased by Ferrero in 2015 and ceased direct retail in 2021, closing its shops to focus on online and supermarket sales.

2013 - Thorntons underwent a rigorous rebrand, not only adding a swish beneath its logo and changing the livery colour, but also modernising its shop frontage.

The Reading Fone Gadgets, Unlocking, Repairs, Accessories & Luggage was a mobile phone repair shop the length of whose name was unmatched by the duration of its existence.

2013 - The shop was occupied by the Reading Fone Gadgets, Unlocking, Repairs, Accessories & Luggage, although this lasted no more than a year.
