Queen Victoria St development (west side)

Built in 1903 as part of the creation of Queen Victoria Street (which directly linked Broad Street to Station Road), this building was possibly designed by Joseph Morris. It was Grade II listed in 1978 along with the rest of the Queen Victoria Street development.

Ernest Jones is a jeweller and watchmaker founded by Ernest & Stella Weinstein in 1949. It was bought by Ratner Group (now Signet Jewelers Ltd) in 1987.

Thorntons Limited is a chocolatier founded in 1911 by Joseph Thornton. It was purchased by Ferrero in 2015 and ceased direct retail in 2021, closing its shops to focus on online and supermarket sales.

Barratts Priceless, trading as Priceless Shoes, was a footwear chain founded as W Barratt Boot & Shoe Co. in 1903. It was bought by Stylo in 1964, which merged the two companies to form Stylo Barratt. The Priceless brand was introduced in 1999. Barratts entered administration in 2009 and closed in 2013.
