Former Colebrook & Son building

This building was erected in 1886 for George Colebrook & Son, butchers, replacing their previous shop. The architects were Charles Smith & Son of Friar Street, who designed it in 'Dutch renaissance' style.

Carphone Warehouse is a telecoms retailer founded in 1989. It was acquired by Currys in 2014 and its stores closed in 2020; leaving only concessions within Currys.

This building was purpose-built for British Home Stores in 1967 on the site of the former Angel Brewery, Angel Tap public house and two shops. In 2016, it was remodelled and refaced for fashion retailer Primark.

Primark (clothing retailer - mens & ladies' wear)

Primark is an Irish fashion retailer that primarily sells clothing, accessories and footwear. Headquartered in Dublin. it was founded there by Arthur Ryan in 1969. Its first UK shop was opened in Belfast in 1971 and its first in Great Britain in Derby in 1973.

2018 - Primark updated the appearance of its Broad Street store, relocating the large wordmark sign on the building's upper frontage.
