No. 83 Broad Street (south side) - 2025

Building & Occupier Details

Building:
Nos 83 & 83A, Broad Street (combined)

An exact date for the construction of this building is hard to pin down, but old images suggest that it was built sometime between the mid-1880s and the mid-1890s. It originally comprised two shops - 83 and 83A - but these were combined in 2018, with only the shuttered door on the left remaining of 83A.

No. 83
Foot Locker (sports footwear shop)

Foot Locker is an American footwear retailer selling trainers and other sporting shoes and associated sportswear and youth fashion. It was founded in 1974 as a subsidiary of the FW Woolworth Company (est. 1879) and became so successful that the parent company rebranded as Foot Locker in 2001.

2025 - Foot Locker updated its fascia and shop front in line with its 2020 brand identity. This involved making changes to the doors. The company’s wordmark changed from red to white and its logo was displayed prominently in one window.
