Former Barratts shoe shop building

Based on photo evidence, this building appears to have been erected circa 1964, at which time it was a Barratts shoe shop. Its shop front was remodelled in 2007.

Pret a Manger (sandwich shop)

Pret a Manger (French for 'ready to eat') is a sandwich shop chain founded in London in 1983.

2007 - Footwear retailer Barratts vacated No. 60 and was replaced by a branch of the sandwich chain Pret a Manger, which already had another branch at Nos. 132-133.

Select is a recruitment and temporary employment agency established in 1980.

Part of the former Littlewoods building

This building was built in 1967 as a single structure for Littlewoods (plus grocer John Quality at No. 54). The main part (Nos 55-59) was split into two shops in 1998.

Next is a men's & women's fashion retailer created in 1982 when men's tailors J Hepworth & Son (est. 1864) acquired womenswear retailer Kendall & Sons (est. 1870).

2007 - Next underwent a minor rebranding, adopting a lower-case wordmark logo. The shop fascia was updated accordingly.
